Federal jury awards Taction $5.7 billion in damages from Apple over patent infringement

A federal jury in San Diego has awarded Taction over $5.7 billion in damages. According to CNBC, the lawsuit involved U.S. Patent Nos. 10,659,885 and 10,820,117, which pertain to vibration-based, tactile transducer technology that allows users to feel a device responding to their input.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Taction claimed that Apple's Taptic Engine, used in its Apple Watches and iPhones, employed technology it developed without a proper license.
