Google outlines future plans for ChromeOS and Googlebooks

<p>Google is preparing for the launch of Googlebooks, a new line of Android laptops intended to compete with macOS and Windows. As part of this transition, there are indications that Google may phase out its ChromeOS platform, according to a newly discovered support page.</p><p>The support page, identified by 9to5Google, provides information for Chrome Enterprise and Education customers regarding the introduction of Googlebooks. It mentions that Googlebook OS, which is based on Android, will deliver enhanced capabilities and incorporate artificial intelligence features.</p><p>Similar to Chromebooks, Googlebooks will receive 10 years of software support. However, the latest Chromebook models will not receive support in the same manner. The support page indicates that Google intends to maintain ChromeOS support until "mid-2034," with some devices having support periods extending beyond that date.</p>
