Investigation launched into death of 'Virgin River' actor Stewart McLean

Stewart McLean, a 45-year-old actor known for his roles in 'Virgin River' and other series, was reported missing on May 18, 2026. He was last seen at his home in Lions Bay on May 15. Following a missing persons investigation by the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), evidence was uncovered suggesting that McLean was the victim of a homicide. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation, which includes collecting evidence, reviewing CCTV footage, and conducting interviews to establish a timeline of McLean's activities prior to his disappearance.
