Rep. Jasmine Crockett Faces Criticism for Excluding James Talarico from Endorsement List

<p>Representative Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat from Texas, received criticism from former colleague Susan Wild for not including James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, on her endorsement list released on Monday. Talarico, who defeated Crockett in the party’s Senate primary earlier this year, was absent from the 14 candidates endorsed by Crockett’s Feuling Individual Rights Everywhere (FIRE) PAC.</p><p>Wild, who previously served three terms in Congress, expressed her disapproval, stating, "F*** her. That’s all I can say. And that statement has nothing to do with blind loyalty to Dems. It has everything to do with her being a narcissistic drama queen who has used her platform (such as it is) only to advance herself. Karma will suck." This comment was made in a post on X.</p><p>Crockett, known for her progressive stance, has previously attracted attention for her outspoken remarks, including comments about Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Recently, she faced backlash for honoring singer Chris Brown in the congressional record despite his history of violence against women.</p><p>In response to the criticism, Crockett stated that she had personally congratulated Talarico after his primary victory. She emphasized the importance of focusing on facts and urged the media to cover more pressing issues, specifically mentioning Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.</p><p>Crockett lost to Talarico in the primary election, which was decided by a margin of 52.4% to 46.2%. Following the election, she endorsed Talarico, stating, "Texas is primed to turn blue, and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win." She reiterated her commitment to supporting Democratic candidates.</p><p>Additionally, it is noted that Crockett’s FIRE PAC has raised $144,960, primarily focusing on smaller races, and that several candidates, including gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa, were not listed among her endorsements.</p><p>Representatives for Crockett did not immediately respond to requests for comment.</p>
