Luka Doncic files petition to bring daughters from Slovenia to the US

Luka Doncic has filed a petition under the Hague Convention to have his two daughters brought from Slovenia to the United States, as confirmed by a source to the California Post. The petition aims to organize or secure effective exercise of rights of access to a child, according to the U.S. Department of State. Doncic, who is entering his third season with the Los Angeles Lakers, is seeking to bring 2-year-old Gabriela and 9-month-old Olivia to Los Angeles amid a custody dispute with his former fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, who is currently in Slovenia with the children. The petition was filed in Slovenia. Doncic spent last summer in Slovenia with his daughters and arranged for the Lakers to hold a minicamp in his home country to stay close to them. He returned to Los Angeles last week in preparation for training camp. At the Lakers media day, he wore bracelets made by his daughters and shared photos of them on Instagram, expressing his love and commitment to them. Doncic did not participate in the Slovenia national team last summer to prioritize time with his children, stating that they will always come first in his life and that he has faced difficulties in seeing them over the past eight months.
