This disclosure coincides with Trump's plans to award Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang the National Medal of Science, the nation's highest honor for scientific achievement. The disclosure of the president's investment in Nvidia comes as his administration considers policies that may affect the company, including regulations on exports of advanced chips. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle stated that third-party financial institutions manage the president's portfolio independently and replicate recognized indexes, such as the Schwab 1000. Huang is set to receive the award on Thursday, which honors individuals for outstanding contributions to various scientific fields, as noted by the National Science Foundation. The Nvidia trades were part of hundreds of transactions made by the president in August, as indicated in the disclosure signed on September 17. Ingle emphasized that all investment decisions are made by independent managers, asserting there are no conflicts of interest. Trump is also expected to award the same honor to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Google co-founder Sergey Brin on the same day. Nvidia's spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
