Sunny Hostin Predicts Texas May Vote Democratic in Upcoming Senate Race

Sunny Hostin, co-host of "The View," predicted on Thursday that Texas voters may elect a Democratic candidate in the upcoming November election for the first time in approximately 30 years. This prediction comes amid a competitive race between Democratic candidate James Talarico and Republican incumbent Ken Paxton for the U.S. Senate seat. Hostin stated, "I think we will see Texas go blue, actually. I really do," referencing polling data that shows Talarico leading Paxton 51% to 45%. Hostin noted that Talarico has significant support among women (56% to 40%), voters aged 18 to 29 (66% to 22%), and Hispanic voters (62% to 30%). Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested that Talarico's lead reflects voter dissatisfaction with current leadership, particularly in relation to President Trump's administration. Griffin expressed that while Talarico is a strong candidate, the outcome remains uncertain. A Fox News poll from October indicated Talarico has a net positive personal rating of 8 points among likely Texas voters, while Paxton has a negative rating of 18 points. The poll also revealed that likely voters are nearly evenly split on Senate control, with 49% favoring a Democratic Senate and 50% preferring a Republican majority. Co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro expressed skepticism about the polling data, with Navarro emphasizing the need for voter turnout. Paxton's campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. Trump campaigned with Paxton in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, criticizing Talarico for not attending the event due to illness. RNC spokesman Zach Kraft commented on the co-hosts' remarks, suggesting that their political insights may not be taken seriously by some.
