Video footage captured the moment when floodwaters destroyed a bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River in Nepal, as flash floods affected the Gorkha district over the weekend. Authorities reported that at least five people are missing. More than 80 individuals have been rescued from the floodwaters, and six were saved from a landslide-prone area in Jagat, according to Prime Minister Balendra Shah's social media post. This incident marks the second significant natural disaster in Nepal in two months. On August 26, an avalanche caused by a collapsing glacier resulted in a flood that killed over 1,400 people near the Nepalese border with China, with thousands still unaccounted for. Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, a senior official in Gorkha, stated that authorities are assisting affected villages and have advised those living along the riverbanks to evacuate for safety.
