Ben Sutcliffe, a police constable and former acting sergeant with Cleveland Police, is scheduled to appear before an accelerated misconduct hearing on October 21, 2026, in Stockton-on-Tees. The hearing will address allegations of sexual misconduct, including claims that he engaged in sexual activities with a female colleague in public places while on duty. Sutcliffe, who appeared in two seasons of Channel 5's Police Interceptors in 2017 and 2018, is accused of sending and receiving numerous sexually explicit messages and images to the officer while on duty, which reportedly interfered with his professional responsibilities.
Additionally, he is alleged to have disclosed confidential operational police information to the officer without lawful purpose and failed to challenge her improper conduct when she indicated she would lie to the Professional Standards Department about their relationship. Cleveland Police stated that these allegations amount to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to discreditable conduct and could be classified as gross misconduct if proven.
If found guilty, Sutcliffe could be placed on the College of Policing Barred List, preventing him from returning to law enforcement. During his time on Police Interceptors, he was featured in various episodes, including pursuits and traffic stops, and had been with the force for 11 years at the time of filming.
