The July 2026 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, which can be as much as $994, will be distributed to recipients in 28 days. SSI payments are generally issued on the first day of each month and are designed to assist individuals with limited income who are blind, aged 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability.
The payment amounts vary based on several factors, including the number of individuals filing. Individual filers may receive up to $994, while couples filing jointly can receive $1,491, and those providing essential care to SSI recipients may receive up to $498.
To qualify for SSI payments, recipients must be U.S. citizens or noncitizens in specific classifications approved by the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, recipients must reside in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands, and must not be absent from the United States for a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days.
A complete calendar for Social Security Administration payments is available on the agency’s website.
