Aida Turturro Discusses Heart Attack Experience on Podcast

Aida Turturro, 67, known for her role in *The Sopranos*, shared her experience of a near-fatal heart attack during a podcast episode on June 2. In a conversation with fellow actresses Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Turturro revealed that she initially misinterpreted her symptoms. She stated, "Eight years ago I had a big heart thing," attributing it to stress and diabetes. Turturro described how she experienced chest pains for two years before receiving a diagnosis of a heart attack, which led to quadruple bypass surgery due to severely clogged arteries. She emphasized the importance of self-care and awareness of heart health, particularly for women, and noted that she feels healthier now, although she still enjoys sweets in moderation.
