Apple to Implement Age Verification in Texas App Store

Apple will implement age verification in the App Store for users in Texas starting on Thursday, June 4th. This decision follows a federal appeals court allowing Texas' App Store Accountability Act to take effect while a lawsuit against it is ongoing. Users creating a new Apple account in Texas will need to verify their age as over 18 using a credit card or government ID. Additionally, Apple may automatically verify users' ages based on their account information and credit card status. Users under 18 will be required to join a Family Sharing group, where a parent or guardian will need to provide consent.
