According to Los Angeles police, Handy was allegedly killed by his girlfriend's son, Michael Gledhill, 44, who was arrested following a 911 call he made. The call reportedly included a statement, 'I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin.'
Police responded to the emergency call around 9:30 a.m. and found Handy unconscious in the front yard of a home on Erwin Street, suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Gledhill, who lives with his mother at the residence, was apprehended by officers who were responding to the incident. He has been booked on suspicion of murder, with bail set at $2 million. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
