One of the women mentioned in the report, Lyndsey Fifield, also criticized the New York Times for not including corroborating evidence she provided and for downplaying her claims. She stated that the journalists twisted her story, violating the trust she placed in them. Benson highlighted that Fifield had provided documentary evidence against Platner, including details about a Nazi tattoo he has, which Platner claimed he did not understand. The Maine primary election is scheduled for June 9.
