Denver Broncos Player Jonathan Cooper Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Denver Broncos player Jonathan Cooper and his girlfriend were arrested on domestic violence charges on June 5, 2026. Both individuals are facing two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief, according to Douglas County jail records. The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument over allegations of infidelity. During the confrontation, the girlfriend allegedly threw Cooper's phone against a wall, after which a struggle ensued over the device. Cooper then allegedly threatened to damage her phone, which he ultimately did by biting and breaking the screen. Following a court hearing, Cooper was released on a personal recognizance bond. He is expected to enter a plea at a follow-up hearing on June 7, 2026. Cooper, 28, has been with the Broncos since being drafted in 2020 and recently signed a four-year, $60 million contract extension.
