Fireworks Trailer Fire Shuts Down Interstate 75 in Tennessee

<p>A trailer loaded with fireworks caught fire on Interstate 75 in Tennessee on Saturday night, leading to the temporary closure of the highway as emergency crews responded. Video footage from the Chattanooga Fire Department shows fireworks launching into the air and exploding in various directions as flames engulfed the trailer near the Ooltewah exit.</p><p>The Chattanooga Fire Department, Tri-Comm, and law enforcement responded to the incident, which posed a danger to drivers due to the fireworks. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.</p><p>The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department confirmed that all fireworks in the trailer were involved in the fire, causing multiple explosions. As a safety measure, both northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were closed while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. Emergency vehicles utilized the southbound lanes to transport water to the firefighting crews.</p><p>A spokesperson from the Chattanooga Fire Department indicated that the incident occurred outside the city limits, with the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department leading the response. Chattanooga crews assisted under a mutual aid agreement. The southbound lanes reopened relatively quickly, while the northbound lanes remained closed as crews monitored hot spots and cleared the burned trailer.</p><p>Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire.</p>
