Ken Paxton's Impeachment Defense Lawyer Endorses James Talarico for Senate

Dan Cogdell, a Houston-based attorney who represented Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton during his impeachment trial, has endorsed Democrat James Talarico in the upcoming Senate race in Texas. Cogdell stated that Paxton has lost sight of his mission to represent the people of Texas and expressed his belief that Talarico promotes unity among Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. Cogdell has previously donated $6,500 to Paxton's campaign and $1,000 to Talarico's campaign in March. His endorsement follows the third anniversary of Paxton's impeachment by the Texas House of Representatives on bribery allegations. Talarico welcomed the endorsement, inviting Republican voters disillusioned with Paxton to join his campaign. During the GOP primary, concerns were raised about Paxton's viability as a candidate due to his legal issues and controversies, with estimates suggesting the party may need to invest over $100 million to secure the seat if he is the nominee.
