He described the situation as "pretty shady," highlighting that ballots were still being received and suggesting that the outcome favored Democrats. Pratt's loss was confirmed by the Associated Press, which reported that Raman advanced to the runoff alongside Bass. Former President Donald Trump and other figures have claimed that the election was "rigged," although no evidence has been provided to support these assertions. The primary was conducted over several days, with California's lengthy ballot counting process impacting the results. As of the latest counts, Raman led Pratt by 28.6% to 25.8%, with 92% of the votes counted. House Speaker Mike Johnson also criticized California's voting procedures without endorsing claims of voter fraud, stating that the process "stinks to high heaven."
