Cardi B Attributes Knicks Loss to Trump's Presence at Game

Cardi B expressed her belief that President Donald Trump's attendance at the New York Knicks game contributed to the team's loss on Monday night. During an Instagram Live session, she described the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden as having a "dark energy" during Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. When asked if Trump's presence was bad luck for the Knicks, she stated, "It probably was. But it is what it is. You can’t stop the president from f---ing going to a game. But it did feel a little dark in there." She further compared the atmosphere to that of a school environment where everyone had to behave. Trump was booed when shown on the Jumbotron during the national anthem. Additionally, a planned watch party outside Madison Square Garden was canceled following the announcement of Trump's attendance, disappointing many Knicks fans. The Knicks ultimately lost the game 115 to 111, which Cardi B had hoped would bring positive changes to the city.
