Boston police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a children's lemonade stand operated by siblings in South Boston. The incident took place on Wednesday at approximately 4:45 p.m. when the children and their father reported that two suspects approached the stand and inquired about accepting Apple Pay. One suspect then took a box containing $50 in cash, while another displayed a firearm in his waistband before fleeing the scene.
The suspects were described by the children as one dark-skinned male around 14 years old wearing a black Nike sheisty and a light-skinned male appearing to be 11 years old, also wearing a Nike sheisty. Police noted that street cameras in the area did not capture the incident. Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn expressed concern over the robbery, highlighting its impact on the community and the potential trauma for the children involved. Neighbors have planned to assist the children in reopening their lemonade stand on Friday.
