Report Indicates Decline in Traffic to Major Right-Wing News Websites

A report from TheRighting, a news outlet focusing on conservative media, indicates that traffic to the 20 most popular right-wing news websites has decreased year-over-year as of May 2026. The analysis, based on data from Similarweb, reveals that 90 percent of these sites experienced double-digit declines in site visits. Only the Epoch Times and Truth Social recorded single-digit drops. Notable sites included in the report are Fox News, Truth Social, and the Daily Wire. The Federalist saw the largest decline at 52 percent, followed by the Daily Wire at 47 percent and The Blaze at 46 percent. The report also noted that legacy media outlets such as The New York Times and CNN experienced similar declines. Howard Polskin, president of TheRighting, commented on the trend, attributing it to the increasing number of news and opinion options available across various platforms. Additionally, a recent YouGov/The Economist poll indicated that former President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to a historic low of -25, with only 35 percent of Americans approving of his performance.
