Pima County Sheriff's Department Reports No Contact from Mexican Authorities Regarding Nancy Guthrie Search

The Pima County Sheriff's Department stated on Thursday that it has not received any communication from Mexican authorities concerning an anonymous tip that may have led to a search for Nancy Guthrie in Mexico. Ramona Guadalupe Ayala Ortiz, head of Buscando Corazones Nogales in Sonora, Mexico, reported that the collective received information suggesting a grave belonging to Guthrie, 84, might have been discovered. The tip indicated that searchers could locate a body matching Guthrie's description in the Mariposa area near Nogales, Sonora. Buscando Corazones Nogales is an organization dedicated to finding missing persons in Mexico. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed awareness of the reports regarding the anonymous tips in a statement on social media. He emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing, and the department will continue to pursue any credible leads. Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February, with authorities suspecting abduction, although there is no evidence indicating she was taken across the border. Surveillance footage captured a masked individual near her home around the time of her disappearance, and her back door was found propped open when police arrived. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
