Representative Thomas Massie, who lost the Republican primary in Kentucky's 4th Congressional District to Ed Gallrein, a candidate backed by President Donald Trump, has indicated he may run for office again in the future. In a post on X, Massie stated that he has filed with the Federal Election Commission for the 2028 House race, allowing him to raise funds for his political operations. He has not yet decided which office he may seek if he runs.
During a recent event at the University of Louisville, Massie expressed that he would not pursue government roles again if he lost the primary. Following his defeat, he stated, "I’m keeping every option open," and mentioned an ongoing social media campaign aimed at reshaping his public image. Massie emphasized that he does not believe he lost due to fraudulent voting practices and will not request a recount. He also stated he is open to various possibilities for his political future, including a potential presidential run in 2028.
