Shooting incident in Midland, Texas results in one death and multiple injuries

A shooting incident occurred on Friday in Midland, Texas, resulting in one confirmed death and at least ten injuries. The shooting was reported near West Wall Street, with police dispatched at 8:03 a.m. Central Time. Midland Mayor Lori Blong stated that there was one known suspect, whose motivations remain unclear, and that law enforcement established a perimeter around the area. The situation has been resolved but the investigation is ongoing. Police Chief Greg Snow reported that armored units were deployed and efforts to safely resolve the standoff with the shooter were in progress. Midland Memorial Hospital was placed on lockdown following the incident, but the lockdown has since been lifted, and a family reunification center has been established at the hospital.
