Florida Attorney General Sues TikTok Over Alleged Violations of Child Safety Laws

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a lawsuit against TikTok on June 12, 2026, alleging that the app violates state law by allowing minors to access inappropriate content and misleading parents. Uthmeier emphasized that TikTok prioritizes profit over children's safety and that the app's algorithm is designed to engage younger users extensively. TikTok has not yet responded to the allegations.
