Elena Katherine Moore, a 39-year-old woman from South Carolina, was reported missing after she was last seen leaving a Planet Fitness gym in Lexington on Thursday evening. According to the Lexington Police Department, she signed in at the gym around 6:40 p.m. and was later observed walking toward a wooded area behind a Lowe's Home Improvement store. Moore's absence is considered unusual by police. A preliminary search of the area conducted on Friday using a drone yielded no signs of her. On Monday, local and state agencies, including the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, participated in a more extensive search of the wooded areas. Police Chief Terrence Green reported that no trace of Moore was found during the search. Moore is described as a White female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an olive-green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants. Authorities are unsure if she has her cellphone and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 803-358-7271 or Midlands Crimestoppers.
