Fifteen individuals associated with Minneapolis-based groups identified as antifa have been federally charged with conspiracy to obstruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through coordinated violence. The indictment, unsealed on June 16, 2026, includes charges of conspiracy to impede federal officers, interstate stalking, destruction of government property, and solicitation to commit violence.
The defendants are reportedly members or associates of Direct Action Minnesota, which is described as a coalition of anti-ICE activists. U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen stated that the group is organized and has conducted blockades to disrupt ICE operations. The charges stem from incidents on January 3 and March 1, where members allegedly used vehicles and homemade shields to obstruct law enforcement.
Rosen emphasized that the Justice Department's focus is on the actions of the accused rather than their political beliefs, stating that the defendants are charged for their conduct in interfering with lawful immigration enforcement operations. Twelve of the suspects were arrested on the day of the announcement, while two remain fugitives. Kyle Wagner, identified as a leader within Direct Action Minnesota, has previously faced charges related to threats against federal officers.
