Five individuals were arrested by the FBI in connection with an alleged plot targeting a UFC event associated with President Trump's planned appearance at the White House, according to officials on June 17, 2026. The FBI's actions followed a report of a potential threat received on June 10 from sources outside Washington, D.C.
A criminal complaint indicates that one suspect used coded language in encrypted communications to refer to potential targets, including President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Elon Musk, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Other identified targets included several Republican senators and representatives from West Virginia.
The arrests took place in Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, and California. An FBI official stated that the rapid response from the FBI and the Department of Justice led to the apprehension of individuals allegedly planning attacks.
One suspect, 19-year-old Tycen Proper, reportedly admitted to planning a coordinated attack during the event, which involved the use of explosive-laden drones intended to detonate over the arena. The group allegedly aimed to incite a revolution through this attack. Proper also identified specific elected officials as potential targets and shared images of them that included financial information from pro-Israel political action committees.
The accused co-conspirators include Bryan Roa, Michael Thomas, Daniel Eskridge, and Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez. The UFC Freedom 250 event is part of a series of mass gatherings planned for the nation's 250th anniversary, with heightened security measures being implemented for the upcoming July 4th celebrations, designated as a National Special Security Event by the Secret Service.
