Hillary Clinton Critiques Biden's 2024 Re-election Bid

Hillary Clinton expressed her views on former President Joe Biden's decision to run for re-election in 2024 during an interview with David Remnick at the 92nd Street Y. Clinton stated that Biden's decision was 'a terrible mistake' for himself, his legacy, and the country. She suggested that if Biden had opted to serve only one term and pass the torch to a new candidate, it would have led to a more competitive election. Clinton believed that any emerging candidate would have had a strong chance against Donald Trump. Biden's spokesperson, T.J. Ducklo, declined to comment on Clinton's remarks. Following a debate performance that raised concerns about Biden's age and mental fitness, he ultimately withdrew from the race and endorsed Kamala Harris. Clinton noted that while there were private discussions among Democrats regarding Biden's re-election, public opposition was not feasible. She also commented on the challenges faced by Harris in the election, attributing part of the difficulty to her position as the sitting vice president.
