Although not formally recognized as a medical condition, experts suggest that hormonal changes may explain these emotional reactions. Dr. Susanna Unsworth, an intimate health expert, indicated that nipple stimulation can affect oxytocin levels, potentially leading to emotional responses. The closest known medical comparison is the dysphoric milk ejection reflex (D-MER), which affects some breastfeeding mothers.
