Fox News Poll Shows Shift in Voter Perception of Big Tech and Government Threats

A recent Fox News Poll indicates that voters now perceive Big Tech as a greater threat to the nation's future than Big Government, with 52% expressing this view compared to 47% who see government as the larger threat. This marks a significant shift from 2019, when 58% were more concerned about government compared to 35% for tech companies. The poll, conducted from June 12-15, 2026, reveals that this sentiment is prevalent across most demographic groups, with notable exceptions among very conservative voters and mothers, who still view government as the bigger threat. Democratic pollster Chris Anderson stated that as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more integrated into daily life, voters are reassessing the balance of power between government and tech companies. The poll also found mixed feelings about AI, with equal numbers of respondents describing it as innovative or a bad idea. The percentage of those who find AI to be innovative has doubled since 2023, while daily usage of AI technology has increased from 11% to 18% among voters. However, opposition to the construction of AI data centers remains strong, with 67% of voters opposing such developments in their local areas. The survey included responses from 1,002 registered voters and has a margin of error of ±3 percentage points.
