Travis Barr Longo, 46, the vice president of the Cazenovia Central School District Board of Education in New York, was arrested by the New York State Police following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 12. He faces four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
During a search of Longo's cell phone on June 18, investigators found numerous images and videos of child pornography, including videos depicting the sexual abuse of infants. Court records indicate that Longo had engaged in discussions about his sexual interest in children with other individuals. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison.
Longo, who was elected to the school board in May 2024, resigned following the announcement of the charges. The Cazenovia Board of Education issued a statement expressing shock and sadness over the allegations and reaffirmed its commitment to student safety.
