Thune Addresses Lee's Advocacy for SAVE America Act

Thune emphasized that there are insufficient votes to eliminate the filibuster or to secure Democratic support for the bill, which requires voter ID and proof of citizenship for voter registration. While the legislation has 50 sponsors, it faces Republican opposition to additional provisions sought by Trump. Thune indicated that he has shifted focus away from the bill, considering it unlikely to pass due to the current political landscape. Lee challenged Thune to bring the bill to the floor for debate, while Thune acknowledged Lee's strong feelings but noted the disparity between social media discussions and legislative realities.
