Michelle Lynn Hancock, a 41-year-old former special education teacher from Palm Bay, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 17-year-old boy, who is the brother of one of her former students. Hancock faces multiple charges, including transmitting information harmful to minors, using a computer to solicit a child, and sexual battery by an authority figure, according to records from the Brevard County jail.
Hancock was apprehended on Wednesday after police found her in a pickup truck with the teen, where both reportedly admitted to having sexual relations. A spokesperson for Brevard Public Schools confirmed that Hancock is no longer employed by the district, emphasizing their commitment to providing a safe learning environment for students.
According to an affidavit, Hancock met the teen while teaching his older brother at Heritage High School. Although the teen had withdrawn from the school to enroll in virtual classes, he continued to visit Hancock, and they reportedly engaged in sexual activity, including kissing in her classroom. After a brief separation, they resumed their relationship and exchanged sexual messages and images. Hancock is currently held in Brevard County jail with a bond set at $525,000.
