Additionally, half of those surveyed consider Paxton too extreme. Talarico has gained support among Hispanic voters and independents, leading Paxton by 27 points among the latter group. The poll also highlights a gender gap, with Talarico leading among female voters while Paxton has an advantage among male voters. Talarico has raised significant funds for his campaign, totaling $27 million in the first quarter of the year. However, the poll suggests that the Democratic Party brand may hinder Talarico's appeal, with many respondents viewing Democrats as too far to the left. Economic concerns are also a focal point, as 60% of respondents disapprove of how Trump is handling cost-of-living issues, which could impact Paxton's support.
