Dustin Lampros, a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter from Delray Beach, Florida, has been working to expose alleged child predators since 2022. Known on social media as 561 Predator Catcher, Lampros was motivated to take action after a friend in cybersecurity demonstrated the ease of creating a fake profile for a minor online. He has coordinated with individuals posing as children to engage with suspected predators, documenting the interactions and reporting them to law enforcement. Lampros has completed around 100 'catches' since starting his mission, with approximately 10 leading to convictions. His approach has evolved over time, and he emphasizes the importance of remaining calm during these encounters. Despite facing potential danger, including threats from individuals he has confronted, Lampros remains committed to his cause and aims to educate parents about online safety for children.
