Shooting at Dearborn, Michigan Mall Results in Two Deaths

At least two individuals have died following a shooting at Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn, Michigan, on Friday. Three people were shot during the incident, which prompted local police to place the mall on lockdown and advise residents to avoid the area. Officers responded to the scene around 1:25 p.m. According to Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin, the shooting resulted from an altercation between two groups of young people who appeared to know each other. Shahin stated that the investigation is preliminary and active, indicating that the incident was not random but involved parties familiar with one another. Both groups reportedly had firearms. The police department has brought several individuals involved in the incident for questioning. Of the three gunshot victims, one died at the scene and another at a local hospital. Michigan state police are assisting local law enforcement with the investigation.
