As the United States commemorates its 250th anniversary, various governments, world leaders, and American diplomatic missions worldwide have expressed their congratulations through messages, illuminated landmarks, and tributes. In Romania, an American flag was projected on the front of a concert hall with 'Freedom 250' above it. Other countries, such as Ecuador, celebrated the occasion by emphasizing their ties with the United States, highlighting '250 years of ideas, values, and freedom' in a social media video.
World leaders also issued messages for the anniversary. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for U.S. support during the war with Russia, stating, 'America, thank you.' United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated President Donald Trump, describing America's founding as a journey of determination. Russian President Vladimir Putin also extended congratulations, wishing happiness and prosperity to all U.S. citizens.
The British royal family marked the occasion with a social media post wishing the United States a 'Happy 250th,' while Pope Leo XIV offered heartfelt congratulations and urged Americans to reflect on their responsibilities to future generations.
