Freedom 250 spokesperson Danielle Alvarez announced that the gates to the National Mall would reopen at 9:45 p.m., and Trump would begin his remarks at 11:00 p.m. Alvarez emphasized that rain would not diminish the pride or patriotism of the attendees. Trump compared the situation to a previous event at the White House, which proceeded despite heavy rain predictions. He encouraged attendees to enjoy the evening, stating, "It’s Saturday night, LETS HAVE SOME FUN, even if we are out late tonight." Trump also acknowledged the presence of veterans at the event and reiterated that rain would not stop the celebration.
