Former Minneapolis Communications Officer Fired Amid Theft Allegations

Adam Fetcher, a former spokesman for the Obama administration, was dismissed from his position as Minneapolis' chief communications officer following allegations of theft. Fetcher is accused of stealing cash and credit cards from three city employees and making unauthorized purchases at local tobacco shops, including a transaction worth $481. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case for potential criminal charges. Fetcher was fired on July 1, after a nine-week leave for substance abuse treatment, and the allegations surfaced after his return to work. Store manager Hamza Zamara confirmed that staff assisted police in identifying Fetcher after a customer reported unauthorized transactions.
