Shooting at Toronto Latin street festival results in two fatalities and multiple injuries

The Toronto Police Service is investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday night at a Latin street festival in Midtown Toronto. The incident, reported at 8:12 p.m. local time at St. Clair Avenue West and Arlington Avenue, left two people dead and four others injured. First responders found six individuals with gunshot wounds, and two were pronounced dead at the scene. The motives behind the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have stated that the suspect(s) are still at large. Following the incident, the Toronto Transit Commission temporarily suspended train stops at the nearby St. Clair West station due to a security incident, but regular service has since resumed. The TD Salsa on St. Clair Festival, which is Toronto's largest Latin culture celebration, was in its 22nd year at the time of the shooting. The Toronto Police Service has not released further information.
