Charles Snowden of Dallas Cowboys suspended for three games following DUI plea

Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of the 2026 NFL season, according to the league's transactional wire. An NFL spokesperson confirmed that the suspension is a result of a DUI arrest from 2024, which was resolved through a plea agreement. Snowden will miss the Cowboys' season opener against the New York Giants, their home opener against the Washington Commanders, and another home game against the Baltimore Ravens. He is permitted to participate in the Cowboys' preseason activities, which include three preseason games. The suspension will take effect after NFL rosters are finalized to 53 players. Snowden, 28, reached a plea agreement in January for a DUI arrest from 2024, pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and complete coroner's and DUI courses. If he fulfills these requirements, the charge will be reduced to reckless driving. Snowden signed with the Cowboys as a free agent this offseason after a minicamp tryout. He was previously an undrafted free agent from Virginia who played for the Chicago Bears in 2021 and the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024 and 2025, with his best season in 2025, recording three sacks and 28 combined tackles across 15 games.
