Homicide detectives in Boston are investigating a death near a residence owned by Rep. Ayanna Pressley's husband, Conan Harris. Police responded to an 'investigate person' call at the property located at 25 Malta St. in the Mattapan neighborhood on Saturday afternoon at 1:52 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased individual in the vicinity. A police officer was stationed at the home, and crime scene tape was visible around the property throughout the afternoon.
According to police spokesperson Officer James Moccia, the officers arrived shortly after the call was made. Realtor Chantae Turner noted that the property was listed for sale about a month ago and stated she was unaware of any details related to the investigation. Authorities have not indicated whether foul play was involved and have not released the identity of the deceased.
On the same day, Harris represented Pressley at a ceremony honoring Boston's first female black TV reporter at a local library. Harris is the CEO and co-founder of a management consulting firm and previously served as the deputy director of public safety for the city of Boston. Pressley, a progressive Democrat, was first elected to Congress in 2018 and announced her intention to seek reelection in Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District last December. She and Harris have been married since 2014.
