Airman dies in heavy equipment accident at Vandenberg Space Force Base

A 23-year-old airman from North Carolina, identified as Airman 1st Class Cedric Eneluna, died on Thursday following a heavy equipment accident at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The incident occurred while Eneluna was operating heavy equipment that rolled down an embankment. No other personnel were injured. The base's Space Launch Delta 30 Public Affairs office reported that Eneluna was a member of the 30th Civil Engineer Squadron’s Pavements and Equipment Flight, which maintains infrastructure supporting the base's launch and test operations. The official cause of death is pending determination by the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office, and a Safety Investigation Board review is underway. Eneluna joined the military on March 5, 2024, and was assigned to Vandenberg in August, where he was part of the unit’s team of pavement and heavy equipment specialists. He was recognized for his positive attitude and work ethic by his superiors.
