Memphis woman charged with first-degree murder after shooting incident

A woman from Memphis, Kendra Scott, has been charged with first-degree murder following the shooting of a man, Rodderius Morton, who was found hiding under her daughter's bed. According to an affidavit, Scott reported to police that she saw Morton under the bed and felt compelled to act. Officers discovered Morton in Scott's front yard with a gunshot wound to the back of his head on Thursday. A juvenile witness stated that Scott was yelling and knocking on the front door before entering the home and finding Morton. Witnesses reported that an argument ensued between Scott and Morton as he was leaving the house, and a single gunshot was heard shortly thereafter. Scott has also been charged with the employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and is currently being held without bond. An inquiry has been made to Scott's attorney for further comments.
