Luna's spokesperson stated she is not under federal investigation and denied having any definitive knowledge of the vice presidential selection. Luna also dismissed the report as false on social media, sharing text messages that she claims contradict the allegations. O’Handley has similarly denied any wrongdoing, stating that he did not trade on confidential information. The report raises questions about political betting and potential conflicts of interest in Washington. Additionally, Luna has previously advocated for legislation to ban insider trading among members of Congress.
