CHESTER, N.J. – Nearly seven weeks after the fatal stabbing of Brooke Hanlon, 35, in her Chester, New Jersey home, local residents are expressing heightened concern for their safety. A neighbor reported that a white Volvo SUV, possibly belonging to Hanlon's husband, Conor, was seen parked outside their home for over four hours last week before leaving. This marked the first sighting of the vehicle at the Chester residence since it was previously observed in Boston days earlier.
Conor Hanlon has ties to Boston's Brighton neighborhood and family in the area. Following Brooke's death, neighbors have increased their communication regarding safety. Brooke was found dead in her home on June 6 and is survived by a 12-month-old child.
As of now, investigators have not released information regarding any suspects or persons of interest in the case. One neighbor expressed concern about the lack of information, stating that despite assurances of no public danger, the uncertainty is unsettling. He mentioned that he is prepared to defend his family if necessary.
During a recent visit to the area, a law enforcement vehicle was observed near the Hanlon home. The Chester Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, which is leading the investigation, have declined to comment further on the case. The investigation into Brooke's death remains ongoing.
