The Iran conflict began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. Critics, including former ally Marjorie Taylor Greene and California Governor Gavin Newsom, condemned Trump's remarks, stating that he was trivializing the loss of American lives. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Chris Van Hollen also expressed their disapproval, labeling Trump's comments as disrespectful. In defense of Trump, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller stated that the results of the Iran conflict have been clear, emphasizing the need to confront the Iranian regime.
