Former NFL Player Le’Veon Moss Arrested Following Accidental Shooting of Toddler

Le’Veon Moss, a former running back for the Miami Dolphins and Texas A&M University, was arrested on Monday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on charges related to cruelty to juveniles. Moss, 23, reported to police that he was in bed with his child when the toddler accidentally fired a gun that Moss had placed under a pillow, resulting in the child being struck. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department's affidavit, Moss's negligence led to the child suffering unjustifiable pain. Moss was booked on a warrant alleging child neglect, with a bond set at $25,000. After the incident, Moss and his girlfriend transported the injured child to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, where the child's condition is being monitored, although no further details have been released. Moss, who signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in the 2026 NFL Draft, did not play in the NFL and retired shortly after signing. During his college career at Texas A&M, he accumulated 2,003 total yards and 22 touchdowns but faced significant injuries, including ACL and MCL tears in 2024.
