North Carolina Man Charged with Murder After Girlfriend Found Dead

A 24-year-old man, Thomaz Kenon Hamilton, has been charged with first-degree murder and rape following the death of his 19-year-old girlfriend, Isabella Mary Alexandria Stroupe, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Police responded to a 911 call on May 1, where Hamilton reported Stroupe as unresponsive. Upon arrival, officers found her deceased in an apartment, reportedly tied to a bed with a tow strap and wearing minimal clothing. An affidavit indicated that Stroupe had multiple traumatic injuries, including broken bones and stab wounds, leading to a homicide ruling. Hamilton's account of Stroupe suffering a heart attack during sexual activity was deemed inconsistent with the evidence. Investigators recovered various items, including a bloodstained knife and a mattress, from the scene. Hamilton was arrested on May 5, and Stroupe's family has since created a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.
